The natural beauty of Michigan's Upper Peninsula is a constant source of inspiration. There is always something to discover in the wild woods of northern Michigan. From waterfalls and meandering rivers to rugged cliffs and dense forests; there is no shortage of natural splendor.
While almost every piece of jewelry that Beth has created has been inspired by our treasured Upper Peninsula, this particular pendant brings together many elements that summarize "Discovering The Upper Peninsula".
The tree sprouting from the U.P. represents growing and having roots here which is a strong source of pride to natives of the north. The copper U.P. sits atop a Michigan Greenstone from the Keweenaw peninsula, representing all the hidden treasures that are to be found within this wonderful region.
The Process

The iconic U.P. shape is hand-sawn from a sheet of salvaged Upper Peninsula copper. In addition to hand-sawing the U.P. shape, Beth also saws the cutout trees that appear on many of her pieces.
This piece is the newest addition to a long running collection of Upper Peninsula jewelry. Many of Beth's designs are Locally Inspired as well, featuring scenes like Presque Isle, Teal Lake, Picnic Rocks, and more. The natural beauty of northern Michigan is a constant source of inspiration.
